The Idea

Detachment is the companion piece to Silhouettes and its opposite in temperament. Where one dissolves people into motion, this one holds them perfectly still, close enough to read a face but far enough that you never quite arrive.

The Craft

Shot handheld and available-light only, so nothing in the frame is arranged. The grade keeps the blacks open and the contrast low, which lets the series read as observation rather than statement.
